Membership Information
MBOA Official Membership Application
Metropolitan Basketball welcomes new members to join. MBOA is dedicated to officiating high school basketball and to providing quality officials. No experience is necessary. We will train you to become an official based on your commitment to learn.

Becoming a high school basketball official is not difficult, but it does require some patience as you learn the rules and mechanics thoroughly. Our meeting begin in September and runs through November. However, our training session are ongoing throughout the year. We accept registration from new members in throughout the year.
The area that we currently serves are Clayton, Henry, Newton, and Spalding counties. Please refer to the Georgia High School Association at www.ghsa.net for contact information for additional Georgia officials groups if needed. You can only be a member of one GHSA sanctioned group.
Annual dues are $72.00, which covers your GHSA fees and rule books.

$40.00 To be paid to MBOA via - Check, Cash, Money Order, or Cash App ($mboabasketball).

GHSA Qualifications to Officiate High School Basketball

Be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or holder of a G.E.D.

File proper application and be accepted by a local, GHSA-sanctioned association.

Attend the GHSA rules camp each year.

Score of at least 85 on the Rules Exam

Complete the GHSA yearly rules clinic.

Officiate the minimum number of contests required in the sport of registration.
